$10,000, $5,000, and $2,500 grant awards for use by the
winning teachers made payable to their respective schools.
• $10,000 Maya Angelou Teacher Award for Poetry designated for programs specifically centered around poetry.
• $2,500 in Penguin Random House titles for their
respective schools.
• Ten $250 runner-up grant awards for use by the winning teachers made payable to their respective schools.
• Transportation, lodging and conference registration for the $10,000 grant recipient to attend the Penguin Random House Awards event at the National Council of Teachers
of English Conference in Houston, TX November 15, 2018,
if not already attending.
• Multi-media coverage of the winning teachers and schools via the Penguin Random House website, press releases,
and newsletters.
