Suffolk School Library Media Association (SSLMA) held its final awards celebration ahead of transitioning to Long Island School Library Association (LISLA) at the James Wilson Young Middle School on Tuesday, June 4th. Joannie Lauria, school librarian at Setauket Elementary School in the Three Village School District, was one of four recipients of the SSLMA Fresh Start Award. The Fresh Start Award  recognizes the ongoing efforts of a new school librarian (at their school for four years or less) to build a strong library program and highlights their contributions. Congratulations to Joannie and all of the award winners!
