This outdoor learning experience for school librarians at Connetquot River State Park can include a forest hike, fish hatchery visit, and/or pond ecosystem exploration. There will be opportunities to create hands-on examples of science activities that relate to classroom/school library learning, along with connections to literary works in fiction and informational texts. In addition, a focus on the NYS Science Learning Standards and how this shift in instruction will affect the needs of teachers and students will be discussed.
